Information Security for Product Managers

This course equips product managers with essential skills to integrate security into the product lifecycle. Participants will explore key security principles, identify risks, and learn best practices for incorporating security considerations during planning, design, development, and maintenance. Through real-world case studies and hands-on exercises, this course empowers product managers to develop secure, user-friendly products while collaborating effectively with security teams. There will be guided hands-on coding to implement basic concepts. No prior coding experience is necessary.

Some class sessions in this course may be offered using a Flipped Classroom model where lectures will be distributed as videos for viewing offline, and class sessions are dedicated to clarifications, content review, and course assignments. Priority registration given to III students. Note that the the R section of this course is specifically reserved for students in the Part-Time Remote MSSM program.

  • Non-MSSM students – Instructor approval is required. Register for the course in SIO and you will be placed in the waitlist. Waitlist will be cleared one month before the course begins.
